This is primarily used for heavy equipment like bobcats, skid steers construction equipment & trailers where a more ruggedized weather proof unit is required. It features a higher capacity back up battery for applications where there may not be power for extended periods of time like 1-3 months. It does feature a solar panel however it can also be connected to back up power for periodic charging
